When I first started writing about change back in 1995, 70 percent of major changes failed. That included mergers, new software systems, and quality improvement efforts. Studies show that we aren’t getting any better at leading change. I was curious about that dreadful statistic since so many books, articles, assessments, and consulting approaches have focused on this challenge over the past 15 years.
